The Story
Absolutely gorgeous rare dish from Wedgwood.
A rare Norman Wilson Unique Ware leaf-shaped dish featuring a molded relief pattern of fern fronds. The ceramic piece is finished with a grey wash transmutation glaze over an embossed leaf motif, highlighting the naturalistic texture against a reddish-brown ground.
The form is characterized by scalloped edges, a pointed tip, and an integrated loop handle at the stem end. The underside is finished in a mottled greenish-tan glaze and rests on three small conical feet. Impressed markings on the reverse include WEDGWOOD and 11 E 59. The item also bears a RUBIN COLLECTION sticker and a handwritten inventory label indicating a mid-20th century date.
